Regarding ... with 对于 — Chinese grammar (HSK 4)

对于 + Topic，Subject + Comment / Subject + 对于 + Topic + Verb

对于 (duìyú) means "regarding / with respect to" and introduces the topic that a judgement or attitude is about. It can open the sentence or sit after the subject before the verb. Compare 关于, which means "about" in the sense of subject matter (a book about history); 对于 is about how someone treats or views something.

Examples

对于这个问题，大家的看法不一样。 Duìyú zhè ge wèntí, dàjiā de kànfǎ bù yīyàng.	Regarding this issue, people's views differ.
对于学生来说，时间是最重要的。 Duìyú xuésheng lái shuō, shíjiān shì zuì zhòngyào de.	For students, time is the most important thing.
我对于他的建议很感兴趣。 Wǒ duìyú tā de jiànyì hěn gǎn xìngqù.	I am very interested in his suggestion.

Tip: A title "about X" uses 关于: 关于历史的书, not 对于历史的书.
