Handling an object with 把 — Chinese grammar (HSK 3)
Subject + 把 + Object + Verb + Result
把 (bǎ) pulls the object in front of the verb so you can say what was done to it and with what result: 请把门关上 is literally "please take the door, close up". The verb must be followed by something (a result like 完, 上, 走, or 了), never left bare. Use 把 when the object is specific and something happens to it.
Examples
| 请把门关上。 Qǐng bǎ mén guān shang. | Please close the door. | |
| 我把作业做完了。 Wǒ bǎ zuòyè zuò wán le. | I finished my homework. | |
| 他把我的书借走了。 Tā bǎ wǒ de shū jiè zǒu le. | He borrowed my book and took it away. |
