Verb + Result (完 / 懂 / 到 / 见 / 好)

Chinese verbs often say only that an action was attempted; a second syllable attached to the verb states the result. 看完 is "finish reading", 听懂 is "understand by listening", 找到 is "succeed in finding". The negative uses 没 before the verb, and the whole verb + result unit stays together.

Examples

我看完了这本书。 Wǒ kàn wán le zhè běn shū.	I finished reading this book.
你听懂了吗？ Nǐ tīng dǒng le ma?	Did you understand (what you heard)?
我找到我的手机了。 Wǒ zhǎo dào wǒ de shǒujī le.	I found my phone.

Tip: 看 alone means "look at"; only 看见 or 看到 means you actually "saw" something.
