Comparisons with 比 — Chinese grammar (HSK 2)
A + 比 + B + Adjective
To compare two things, put 比 (bǐ) between them and follow with a plain adjective: 他比我高 is "he than me tall", i.e. "He is taller than me". Chinese adjectives have no "-er" form, so the adjective stays unchanged. To say how much more, add 一点儿 (a bit) after the adjective.
Examples
| 他比我高。 Tā bǐ wǒ gāo. | He is taller than me. | |
| 今天比昨天冷。 Jīntiān bǐ zuótiān lěng. | Today is colder than yesterday. | |
